By accessing or using SmartScanner, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you may not use the service.

2. Account Usage

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.

3. Data Use & Privacy

We only collect information required to provide license plate monitoring, ticket alerts, subscription services, and dashboard functionality.

If you delete your account, we remove account details, plates, reports, and saved profile data. We may keep your email address and referral-use status to prevent referral abuse and repeated free-trial use.

Once your account is deleted, your account data cannot be recovered. If you wish to use SmartScanner again, you will need to create a new account.

4. Payments & Subscriptions

Subscription plans may be changed or canceled at any time through your account settings. When you cancel a paid subscription, you will not be charged further and you will retain access until the end of the current paid billing cycle. Partial refunds are not provided.

5. Limitation of Liability

SmartScanner is not responsible for parking enforcement decisions or actions. Our service provides monitoring and notifications based on available SFU parking citation information. Users remain responsible for compliance with all parking rules and fines.

Your data is used solely to provide and improve SmartScanner. This includes:

• Monitoring your registered license plate
• Sending ticket notifications
• Managing subscriptions and billing
• Providing access to your dashboard
• Ensuring account security and preventing fraud

3. Google Sign-In and Third-Party Services

SmartScanner uses Google Sign-In for authentication. By using Google Sign-In, you agree to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

We only receive the basic profile information that Google provides: name, email, and profile image. We do not receive access to your contacts, calendar, files, or other Google account data.

For payment processing, we may use third-party providers such as PayPal. These providers handle sensitive payment information on our behalf.

4. Data Storage and Deletion

If you delete your account:

• Your SmartScanner profile, license plate data, bug reports, and account fields are deleted.
• We may keep your email and referral-use status to prevent referral abuse.
• Payment processors may retain payment records according to their own legal and compliance requirements.

Deleted account data cannot be recovered. To use SmartScanner again, you must create a new account.

5. Data Protection

We follow reasonable security practices to protect your information, including secure communication, restricted access, and limited data collection.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. Information is only shared when required to provide authentication, process payments, operate the service, or comply with legal obligations.
