By accessing or using SmartScanner, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you may not use the service.
2. Account Usage
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.
3. Data Use & Privacy
We only collect information required to provide license plate monitoring, ticket alerts, subscription services, and dashboard functionality. If you delete your account, we will remove all associated data from our systems and request deletion from third-party providers including, but not limited to, Google Sign-In and SecurePay.
Once your account is deleted, your data cannot be recovered. If you wish to use SmartScanner again, you will need to create a new account.
4. Payments & Subscriptions
Subscription plans may be changed or canceled at any time through your account settings. When you cancel a subscription (if applicable), you will not be charged further and you will retain access to your plan until the end of the current billing cycle. Partial refunds are not provided.
5. Limitation of Liability
SmartScanner is not responsible for municipal parking enforcement decisions or actions. Our service only provides monitoring and notifications based on data from SFU parking enforcement and related systems. Users remain responsible for compliance with all local parking rules and fines.

This Privacy Policy explains how SmartScanner (“we”, “our”, or “the Service”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our platform.
1. Information We Collect
When you use SmartScanner, we may collect the following information:
- Google Sign-In information: Your name, email address, and profile image (if provided by Google).
- License plate information: Required to monitor parking activity and send notifications.
- Subscription and payment details: Processed securely through third-party providers such as PayPal. We do not store your full payment information.
- Phone and optional email: Held safely by us and is never shared. Used for more notification options
- Usage data: Basic analytics (e.g., sign-in timestamps) for service reliability and security.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used solely to provide and improve SmartScanner. This includes:
- Monitoring your registered license plate
- Sending instant ticket notifications
- Managing subscriptions and billing
- Providing access to your dashboard
- Ensuring account security and preventing fraud
3. Google Sign-In and Third-Party Services
SmartScanner uses Google Sign-In for authentication. By using Google Sign-In, you agree to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
We only receive the basic profile information that Google provides (name, email, and profile image). We do not receive access to your contacts, calendar, files, or any other Google account data.
For payment processing, we may use third-party providers such as PayPal. These providers handle all sensitive payment information on our behalf.
4. Data Storage and Deletion
We store only the information necessary to operate your account. If you delete your account:
- Your SmartScanner profile, license plate data, and history are permanently erased.
- We request deletion of your information from all connected third parties such as Google Sign-In and PayPal.
Deleted data cannot be recovered. To use SmartScanner again, you must create a new account. We may only keep your email as a record of a previous account and nothing more.
5. Data Protection
We follow industry-standard security practices to protect your information, including secure communication, restricted access, and encrypted data handling where applicable.
6. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. Information is only shared when required to:
- Provide authentication (Google)
- Process payments (PayPal or similar)
- Comply with legal obligations, if required by law
